What do you give a mother who has everything this Mother’s Day? We recommend a lustrous strand of Spey pearls and to help, we’re throwing in two complimentary tickets to see an upcoming performance of The Washington Ballet. Spend time and make lasting memories with Mom over an evening at the ballet – the perfect occasion to don her new Spey pearls. We’ll also elegantly wrap and deliver your pearls free of charge, then greet and welcome you to the theatre. Two free tickets. Free gift-wrapping. Free delivery. One happy mother. Gift giving is that simple this Mother’s Day.
Pearls with a Pointe
The connection between Spey and the arts extends well beyond Mother’s Day; offering tickets to Spey patrons is just the tip of the pointe shoe. Spey recently announced a drive to help fund a Ballet 1A class at a Washington, DC public school, through a program of The Washington Ballet called DanceDC. By contributing 30 percent of ongoing sales until a class is underwritten, Spey has pledged $7,000 toward sustaining arts and engagement programs for youth in DC.
This endeavor underpins the company’s commitment to the local community, as patronage of the arts is integral to the Spey brand foundation. Spey jewels are an expression of tension and movement, releasing into exceptional works of art. The same is true of ballet. Spey is proud to share this common vision of creative impulse.
Teaching DC Students More than Just Dance
DanceDC is a celebrated education and outreach initiative of The Washington Ballet that has served tens of thousands of DC public school students over more than 15 years. The program, which provides a nurturing, creative community for young people to discover inherent talents and gifts, reaches underserved areas of the DC community over a 7-week, in-school residency.
Taught by master dance educators, the interdisciplinary nature of DanceDC ensures that both second- and third-graders in underperforming Washington, DC public schools better engage in education and achieve higher potential. Teamwork, discipline, self-esteem and appreciation for the arts are important tenets of the DanceDC program.
To take advantage of the Mother’s Day ballet promotion, orders for pearl strands must be placed by May 4, 2015. The exact ballet performance, seating location, date, and time will be mutually confirmed after purchase. Thirty percent of all purchases – including pearl pendants and pearl earrings from Spey – goes to help fund The Washington Ballet’s DanceDC program, until a class is fully staffed and supported. There’s so much more to love this Mother’s Day.
