Ailanbeg Cottage
is located in the
Cairngorm
National Park, was built over 200 years ago and has recently been fully renovated
incl. double glazing. It combines traditional building style with modern comfort. e.g.

The original Granite masonry work was fully restored inside and out.
Located about 1,5 miles outside the picturesque village of Nethybridge, which is on the edge of the Abernethy Forest Nature Reserve
and close to the RPSB Osprey reserve .
From the cottage you have unspoilt views of the majestic Cairngorm
and the Monadhliath Mountains.

Bird
watching from Ailanbeg Cottage:
The Cottage is at the end of a private road, to the south and west surrounded by grazing land, to the north and east by heather and a pond which attracts waterfowl.
Water hen, seagulls, ducks, partridge, black-grouse, crossbill, curlew, oystercatcher, capercaille, osprey, buzzards, falcons, with patience the red kite, and the golden eagle.
The following more than 55 species have been seen from Ailanbeg Cottage
without having to leave the property: Black Grouse, Red Grouse, Black headed
Gull, Mallard. Oystercatcher (nesting) and with young in Garden, Lapwing
(nesting) and with young in Garden, Curlew (nesting) and with young in Garden,
Swallow, Sand Martin, Meadow Pipit, Skylark, Jackdaw, Teal, Snipe in Garden,
Widgeons, House Martin, Lesser Black Backed Gull, Shoveler, Common Gull, Moorhen
(nesting) and with young in Garden, Redshank in Garden, Starling, Wheatear
in Garden, Short-eared Owl, Buzzard, Sparrow Hawk, Hen Harrier,
Kestrel, Red Kite, Crow, Rook, Pheasant, Grey Partridge, a flock of more than 20
red-legged Partridges in front of the cottage, Woodcock pair, Redpoll
pair, Jack Snipe, Great Spotted Woodpecker, Redwing, Song Thrush,
Woodpigeon, Wren, Robin, Grey Wagtail, Pied Wagtail, Starling
and the rare
Reed Bunting.
Regularly feeders at the peanut feeders are:
Siskin, Red bunting, greenfinch, Bullfinch, Reed bunting, Chaffinch,
Goldfinch, Blue Tit, Crested Tit, Great Spotted Woodpecker and
